Introducing PCA - Advanced Facial Peel® Therapy and Skin Care.

What is a PCA Peel®?

It's fast, painless, with minimal or no downtime. It compliments your Botox and Pelleve treatments so you get more out of them! NCD Skin's PCA-Certified Professional Skin Therapist is ready to help you take off the old and bring in the New - skin, that is.

PCA is dedicated to the science of healthy skin. Yes, there's science behind a PCA Peel®! A PCA Peel® is a professionally applied peel solution that exfoliates dead skin cells and helps healthy skin cells rise to the surface. These treatments allow deeper layers of fresh and untouched skin to be revealed. The result of monthly treatments can even skin tone, clear acne, improve the appearance of aging skin and make dull complexions glow.

Peels are safe for all skin types, and Shelli Deblois, your NCD PCA Certified Professional, is trained to identify what treatment combination is safe for your skin in order for you to reap the greatest benefits.

Professional peels are increasingly effective with pre- and post-treatment care, balancing your skin before the peel and nurturing it after the treatment. You'll notice your skin is more receptive and responsive to skin care products. A PCA Peel® works perfectly with Botox and Pelleve treatments, as well, complimenting their results.

A little about PCA

PCA is backed by science for the health of your unique skin. PCA SKIN was the first in the business to formulate a modified and enhanced version of a popular professional peel called a Jessner's peel. This allowed treatments to be performed on a wider range of clients with increased benefits.

PCA SKIN's PCA Peel® range include kojic and citric acids, and hydroquinone blended in a traditional Jessner's solution for safe and effective results for a variety of skin types.

What is Jessner's solution?

A Jessner's peel is a popular peel type among professionals. It aids in correcting common skin challenges like acne and uneven pigmentation.

Here is some of the basic science behind a Jessner's peel: A Jessner's peel is a peeling solution that is designed to improve skin on a deeper level. It combines lactic and salicylic acids with resorcinol to exfoliate while treating conditions such as acne and hyperpigmentation.

PCA SKIN was the first in the business to formulate a modified and enhanced Jessner's peel called PCA Peel®, allowing treatments to be performed on a wider range of clients with increased benefits.

Most PCA SKIN peels are self-neutralizing treatments, meaning they can be layered and left on the skin. The use of water or a comparable neutralizing substance is not needed.

All PCA SKIN liquid chemical peels are blends of a variety of peeling agents at lower percentages making them gentle, effective and able to deliver more desirable, beautiful results.

Everything you need to know before your first treatment

Chemical peels are an important part of skin health. As an effective treatment option for most skin types and concerns, they improve tone, texture, fine lines and wrinkles, breakouts and dark spots, but many people are intimidated to go in for their first peel treatment. The fear of leaving with a bright red face that hurts prevents some from experiencing the many benefits of a peel. The post-peel reality is a glowing, healthy complexion. Here's everything you need to know before your first PCA SKIN chemical peel:

  • Peeling is exfoliation. When your skin peels or flakes after a treatment your skin is shedding dead or damaged surface cells and revealing new, healthy skin cells on the surface. This action is called cell turnover. Supporting the cell turnover process with chemical peels is what allows the skin to shed dead cells and bring new, fresh skin to the surface, free of signs of aging, sun damage, dirt and debris. The result is glowing skin.
  • You won't necessarily experience visible peeling. That doesn't mean your treatment was ineffective. Everyone experiences different levels of peeling, dependent upon skin type, resilience, type of peel and the number of layers applied. Some people experience 'sheeting,' when large portions of the skin peel off at once. Some experience 'flaking,' when small pieces of skin peel off, similar to dry, winter skin or mild peeling after a sunburn. Others experience exfoliation that is not visible. If you don't peel, your skin is still exfoliating. In this case, the exfoliation is happening on a cellular level that can't be seen by the naked eye. Typically, the deeper the peel you receive, the more extensive peeling you will experience. Talk to your PCA Certified Professional to find out what type of peel is best for your skin.
  • Peels are easy to work into a busy lifestyle. There is no downtime with PCA SKIN chemical peels - you'll leave your appointment with a healthy glow and able to carry on with your regular activities. There are steps to ensure that your results are maximized. Following a post-procedure regimen recommended by your PCA Certified Professional following your treatment will enhance your results and keep peeling and redness to a minimum. You should also avoid anything that causes sweating for 48 hours after treatment. Your clinician will give you more detailed instructions after your procedure, catered to your skin's needs.
